What is College and Career Exploration Month?

Governor Tina Kotek has officially proclaimed March 2026 as College and Career Exploration Month, a time for Oregon students to explore their future. Whether it's a four-year university, a trade school, or an apprenticeship, this month is dedicated to showing students the pathways available to them after high school.

"When students have opportunities to explore their options early and often, they build the confidence and clarity needed to pursue fulfilling futures. This month shines a spotlight on meaningful exploration—because every Oregon student deserves the knowledge, support, and resources to understand the wide range of education and training pathways available to them." How Oregon Schools are Participating

Throughout the state, middle and high schools are hosting events to give students opportunities for real-world college and career exploration experience. The experiences had through this event helps students to make informed decisions about their future pathways, and set them up for success in education and training beyond high school. Key activities include:

  • Career Fairs: Connecting students with local industry leaders.
  • Workshops: Hands-on help with applications and financial aid.
  • Guest Speakers: Real-world insights from professionals and alumni.

We encourage all schools to participate and celebrate the many educators, counselors and community partners who make these experiences possible.
