We have exciting news! Governor Tina Kotek has issued a Proclamation declaring November 2025 as Oregon Goes To College Month!
This recognition confirms Oregon’s commitment to postsecondary success for every student.

Why does this matter?
Education or training after high school opens doors to a better life. College offers immediate benefits, like new experiences and exploring your interests, and long-term benefits, like greater stability and a better future for you and your family.
This commitment is for any type of education and training beyond high school, including:
- Community Colleges
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs
- Four-year Universities
- and more!

The Action Plan: College Application Week
The heart of this month is College Application Week. Applying to college can feel overwhelming, and this statewide event cuts through the confusion.
What is College Application Week?
It gives Oregon high school seniors dedicated time and support from staff and volunteers to apply for college and scholarships during the school day.
Schools host workshops where seniors can:
- Fill out college applications
- Complete financial aid forms (FAFSA/ORSAA)
- Get help with essays and scholarships
Counselors, teachers, and volunteers are there to ensure seniors submit those applications with confidence.

Next Steps & Resources
The month is winding down, but there’s still time for seniors to finish applications strong!
Tips for Students:
- Start Early (or Finish Now!): Gather transcripts and test scores
- Apply to More Than One School: Keep options open
- Don’t Forget Financial Aid: Complete FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible
- Ask for Help: Teachers and counselors are ready to support students through the final steps
