Four colorful squares each with a unique icon: a hand holding a heart, a winding path with location markers, an open book, and a briefcase.

Oregon's new Higher Education and Career Path Skills (HECPS) graduation requirement is here. Schools across the state are working hard to bring the standards to life, and many educators are creating lessons and resources as they go.

If you're looking for a place to start, Oregon Goes To College has you covered.

We've created a free, standards-aligned HECPS curriculum designed by Oregon educators who understand both the intent of the standards and the realities of classroom instruction.

What's Included?

The curriculum is organized into four units aligned to the four HECPS domains:

Together, the units include:

  • More than 60 hours of instruction in 60 lesson frameworks
  • Assessment ideas
  • Extension activities
  • Supplemental resources
  • Flexible materials you can adapt for your student and community

Designed for Real Oregon Classrooms

No Scripts. No one-size-fits-all approach.

Instead, you will find lesson frameworks that provide structure, learning goals, activities and assessment ideas while leaving room for what matters most: your expertise as an educator.

Whether you're teaching in Astoria, Burns, Medford, Pendleton, Ontario, Portland, or somewhere in between, these resources are designed to help you meet the standards while making learning relevant to your students.

Created By Oregon Educators

Twenty-three educators from across the state came together through a Curriculum Design Sprint to create these resources. Teachers, counselors, college and career professionals and school leaders worked collaboratively to design practical tools that can be used in a variety of educational settings.

The result is a curriculum built by educators, for educators.

The HECPS curriculum is available now at no cost to Oregon schools and educators.

Download the curriculum, make it your own, and give your students meaningful opportunities to explore careers, prepare for life after high school and build the skills they need for the future.
