Oregon College Cash Campaign Kicks Off!
After helping students apply to college, the next step is to support students and families with the financial aid process including completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and applying for scholarships and grants such as OSAC and Oregon Promise.
Oregon College Cash Campaign (CCC) is a school's collection of events and activities that are coordinated under one goal: ensuring that students have appropriate financial resources to attend college. The majority of CCC activities will be concentrated in the months of January and February to coincide with key deadlines.
44 high schools and community-based organizations across the state are piloting CCC in 2016, coordinating financial aid nights, scholarship workshops, and hands-on help for students and families. These sites can take advantage of existing activities such as College Goal Oregon and workshops provided by the Oregon College Savings Plan as part of their programming or use the free resources compiled in the CCC materials to create their own.
Educators can take advantage of free trainings on the changes made to the FAFSA as well as the new financial aid form for undocumented students in Oregon, plus printable communications materials such as posters, postcards, and more. Schools are also encouraged to reach out to recently graduated alumni to remind and support them through the financial aid process even while they are in college.
